We've been marrried for 28 years.  We've been on adventures in Russia, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Spain, the USA, and the list goes on.

But one of our most adored holiday destinations is France.

We are empty nesters except for 2 English cocker spaniels at home whose tails wag constantly.   Home is Australia!  But we've lived in England and of course, like to travel a lot.  We also love riding our bikes along the Brisbane river and Ruth regularly commutes to work on two wheels.

If you want to join us, don't worry, we are NOT super fit freaks, so we keep the pace steady with healthy challenges along the way to keep us young.

 We have made numerous holiday trips to France, but the last two have involved getting on bikes and really experiencing the countryside, meeting the locals, living the French way, and of course, sampling the local wine ... We actually started out just by hiring the local bikes in the towns and cities in Dijon, Beaune and Lyon in France, Boston in the USA, and Vancouver in Canada.  Then, because we'd started riding more back home, we decided to make a riding holiday, and everything just went so smoothly.  From the baggage transfer to the hiring of the bikes and doing our first two days in a row of 65kms each.  Bum sore but feeling like champions we vowed to make this a regular thing.

We love riding in Burgundy and the Loire Valley, but another favourite place is all the way over near Switzerland and Italy.  You've simply got to go to the highest mountain in Europe - Mont Blanc, next to the Alpine town of Chamonix.  Or what about Annecy and its pristine lake with Geneva and the Alps so close.  We have to admit that we prefer Lyon to Paris these days.  It's known as the gastronomic capital of France, but you have to know where to go
